From Click-To-Call to Click-To-Meet: Giving Your Buyers a Choice

While traditional demo scheduling works for future planning, we've found that interested buyers often want to talk immediately. Instead of forcing these high-intent prospects to schedule for later, Click-to-Meet lets them start a video call directly from your website.

The thesis behind Captiwate was simple enough. We know that the level of buyer engagement drops significantly after they leave your website, so for interested buyers, it's crucial to let them speak to a salesperson at just the right moment. The original incarnation of the product offered to do that with a simple widget that runs in the corner of your website.

While this approach does work exactly as we expected it to, leading to more calls and more demos, we started looking at the traditional demo booking and scheduling process. Sure, people are busy, and it makes sense to offer them time slots to schedule a call for later. But for prospects who want to talk right now, forcing them down the default path of scheduling a call for later is a broken process and a bad buying experience.

So we thought: what if we built the ability to launch a live video call directly via the book a demo button, as an additional option to scheduling?

From a mechanical point of view, we offer multiple choices for the buyer. While call scheduling requires them to leave the website, check their calendar, etc., calling directly through the website requires no jumps through additional hoops. It's similar to the click-to-call services we're familiar with, but it's done directly through the website.

We call it “Click-to-Meet”.

Best practices

Fundamentally, this is a new and improved CTA button for real-time sales teams. That means that for best results, you should implement it on your high-intent pages, like landing pages optimized for conversions or pricing.

If you have the sales team coverage, you can try replacing your main "Book a demo" CTAs. In case nobody is available, the form defaults to offering only the scheduling option.
